Since 1991, Jerome Karam of Friendswood, Texas, has practiced business litigation and personal injury law. Alongside his work as an attorney, Jerome Karam is a fan of NFL football. One of his favorite players is Vince Wilfork of the Houston Texans.
In addition to his successful professional football career, Vince Wilfork has created the Vince Wilfork Foundation, dedicated to helping support diabetes research. After loosing his father to diabetes and his mother to heart disease, Wilfork created the foundation to bring more attention to diabetes and to provide a source of support to any nonprofit organizations carrying out diabetes research.
In addition to providing support for diabetes awareness programs and research facilities in Florida and New England, the Wilfork Foundation advocates for disadvantaged children everywhere. The foundation raises funds through its many special events, such as the NFL Draft Night Fundraiser, the Back to School Backpack Giveaway program, and the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway.
